Custom and build-to-print work

The part you cannot find in a catalogue. Drawings, samples, non-standard threads, unusual materials, and your own brand marked on the part and the box.

What we take on

How a build-to-print job actually runs

  1. Drawing review and DFM feedback. We come back with anything that will be expensive or unreliable to make — not to change your design, but so you can decide with the cost in front of you. Manufacturing feedback at this stage is where the money is saved.
  2. Material, coating and tolerance confirmation in writing. Nobody proceeds on assumptions about which stainless or which plating class.
  3. Sampling. Usually a small batch; for standard specifications we can turn samples around in 48 hours and bulk inside a week. Non-standard tooling takes longer and we will give you the date rather than a guess.
  4. Your approval, in writing, against measured dimensions.
  5. Production, with an inspection record per batch.
  6. Pre-shipment inspection. Yours, ours, or a third party you nominate.

Why a multi-source supplier is better at this than one factory

Custom work is a process question as much as an equipment question. A part that needs hot forging plus precision thread grinding plus a specific plating may want three different shops, each doing the step it is actually good at. A single factory either makes it with the equipment it has — or declines. We can route the work, which is the whole point of buying through a sourcing partner.

The corollary is honesty about scope: if a job genuinely needs a capability we cannot qualify, we say so rather than taking the order and hoping.

What to send

A note on intellectual property: we work to your drawings under confidentiality, we do not put your part numbers in public catalogues, and where a program warrants it we will sign your NDA before drawings are exchanged. If tooling is paid for by you, ownership of that tooling is yours and we will say so in writing.
